Born
in Istanbul, Ayşe Draz studied Theatre, Comparative Literature and
International Studies at Northwestern University, US. She completed her
MA in Performing Arts at Middlesex University, UK after spending a year
in Berlin at the European College of Liberal Arts (Bard College Berlin),
Germany. Since her return to Turkey in 2005, she worked for ten years
with the Studio Players founded by Şahika Tekand as a performer,
instructor and assistant director. She also collaborated with the
choreographers Ayşe Orhon and Gizem Bilgen as a dramaturge in dance. She
attended many international festivals with these various projects in
which she participated. A current member of TEB (Turkish Theatre
Critic’s Association) she is also the performing arts editor of the
magazine Art Unlimited.
